  Laptop Friendly Upgrades

Laptops are great for what they do, the problem that we are seeing more and more, is that people arent really using them for what they were originally intended for.

Laptops are intended to be computing on the go, and they do so very well, today's laptop is no slug, and they are extremely well engineered to give a big performance in a tiny package.

A growing number of people today actually prefer laptops to desktops for thier small size, and portability. While this is very true, they do not expand the way a desktop does.

You will find if you try to upgrade them, that most computer shops will tell you that you are limited, infact some computer shops are even scared to work on them. Logic Unlimited is fully capable and equiped to service your laptop so feel free to call us.

Here is a list (while a short one) of the most worthwhile upgrades you can do to put a little bit more life into your laptop

1. Hard drive - most laptops harddrives are very interchangeable, and usually extremely easy to get to, and a bigger, faster hard drive might be what your looking for.

2. RAM - RAM is the center of improving performance in an existing computer. Max out the RAM in your laptop for that extra speed you desire.

3. Battery - While this is usually pretty expensive, most batteries tend to start dying off in just over a year. You might consult your warranty to find that they only cover the battery for a year, there is a reason for that, they would be replacing alot of batteries. Laptops underlock the entire system when on battery life, and some more so as battery life goes down, avoid it by upgrading your battery.

That's about it, there just isnt alot of room for upgrading. Forget about CPU, and motherboard, you wont get far. You can upgrade your dvd/cdrom if you need another format, but thats kinda relative to your needs.
