This question comes up often with our clients when we recommend windows hosting over linux. Here is a brief rundown.
Linux is part of the Unix family, its an operation system like windows, it supports mostly php and apache for scripting.
Windows is ofcourse a Microsoft product, and supports scripting via ASP.net and the ability to dig deep into the server side to get access server side functions.
While people will argue which is better until the end of time, we prefer Windows Hosting, and we only offer Windows hosting because we are ASP.net developers. We are capable of some php, but ASP.net is our language of choice.
