Many users are not aware that Safe mode exists, but its a vital tool if you are having trouble getting into windows.
Windows Safe Mode boots windows with the minimal set of drivers and software loading so that if one of them is your problem, you can still get into windows. You can use this in tandem with configuration utilities like msconfig to clear your start up items and hopefully get you back into windows.
Here's how to get into safemode...
From a completely OFF system, hit the power button, as soon as it comes up, imediately start tapping the "F8" key on your keyboard (it's located above the "9" key). Try not to tap too quickly or you can get a bios error and have to start over from an OFF computer. Tap to the beat of your favorite song, that should keep you safe.
You will know you got it when it starts giving you different options instead of booting you directly into windows. Select the option for "Safemode" and it will boot you into safemode.
From here you will have access to your system, though limited, and pretty big and ugly graphic settings, but it should help.
